Notification of UPSC Recruitment 2017 - Vacancies for 83 MO, Skipper and Other Posts: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is looking for deserving candidates and has published a notification for the recruitment of 83 Regional Director, Skipper, Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor and Medical Officer vacancies.
The board is looking for Regional Directors who will be responsible for the overall guidance of the Region. The Regional Director must possess excellent time management skills; the ability to communicate ideas and expectations in a clear manner to a diverse group of members; and the ability to delegate duties for increased efficiency. The Regional Director must be motivational and proactive in regards to national policies and expectations. Skilled Skippers are required who will be maintaining any regulatory obligations that are required for the position - Local Launchmans, first aid, bar manager’s certificate and gun licence. As skipper, they will be in charge of the vessel whilst on charter and assume the responsibility for the safety and well being of the clients and crew. Skippers are expected to compromise safety in order to satisfy customer desires, expectations or needs, ie target shooting in unstable conditions, allowing clients to drink excessively and to a point where they endanger themselves. Skippers are to ensure that at all times their vessel is in a safe and seaworthy condition and ready for charter. If not management must be notified. An Assistant Professor's role encompasses the stages of an academic career from first appointment through to Major Review. Those appointed will normally have, or be close to obtaining, a PhD or its equivalent. The role will involve a combination of research and teaching activities, with appropriate organisation of these activities and contribution(s) to departmental administration. The relative balance of activities in research, teaching and administration may vary across departments, and is also likely to vary for any particular individual over the course of their career. They will be doing researches like conducting substantive research into complex problems, ideas, concepts or theories and applying appropriate methodologies, Developing and carrying forward a coherent research strategy in their discipline which has national and international impact etc. The board also required Medical Officers who should be qualified and registered medical professionals with knowledge and skills to provide personal, family, whanau and community orientated comprehensive primary care medical services to individuals. As part of the general practice team he/she will be responsible for providing patient-centred, culturally appropriate, and individual holistic care to a defined population.
Main functions of the Union Public Service Commission are to conduct examinations for appointment to the services of the Union, to get the Recruitment (Direct) done by selection through interviews, to have the appointment of Department officers on promotion, deputation and through absorption, Framing and amendment of Recruitment Rules for various services and posts under the Government, to conduct disciplinary cases relating to different Civil Services, On any matter referred to the UPSC, they can directly Advice the Government by the President of India. The UPSC annually submits a report of its work to the President of India.

Mode of Selection:
Candidates will be selected based on the result of their performance in Recruitment test followed by interview.
Candidates are required to pay Rs. 25/- by cash or by using net banking facility in any branch of the SBI or by using other payments modes like visa/ master credit/ debit card.
Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PH/ Women categories have been exempted from paying the application fee.

Steps To Apply Online:
- Log on to the website www.upsconline.nic.in.
- Go to “Online Recruitment Application (ORA) for Various Recruitment Posts”.
- Click on “New Registration”.
- Fill the requested details and submit the form.
- Post registration, system will generate an unique registration ID and password.
- Fill the personal and qualification details.
- Select the Recruitment Test Centre.
- Upload documents in Document Upload Module.
- After uploading photograph and signature, preview the ORA form and recheck the details.
- Click the submit button
- Next pay Fee using the Internet banking facility in SBI or other associated banks or can pay through Visa/ Master Debit or Credit card issued by any Bank/ Institution.
- The Transaction ID and Date of Registration details will be uploaded automatically.
- With the transaction ID revisit the website and click on the “Click here to view your Previous/ Currently active applications”.
- Log in by registration ID and password, candidates can see “My Active Application (My draft Application)” link.
- Fill the details of transaction ID and Date of Transaction if paid through cash.
- Click “Continue”, check the details of fee and submit the application.
- Candidates may take printout of online application for future use.
