Notification of SBI Recruitment 2017 – Vacancies for 2317 PO, Sr Manager, Dean and Other Posts: The State Bank Of India (SBI) has released a recruitment notification for the Probationary Officers posts including PO, Sr Manager, Dean and other vacancies.

A Probationary Officer is the person who will be newly recruited as an officer and will be under probation period for atleast 2 years. During this phase, he/she undergoes training and performs the alloted work. Since, candidates join the bank at a junior level, they are being called Probationary Officer (PO) but the actual designation could be of an assistant manager. While on job, some important responsibilities of a probationary officer are like Servicing Customers, Bring New Business, Handle Cash, Payment Clearances, Report Verification and Official Communication etc. All banks rely on customers for their business, so serving the customers is the foremost necessity for an officer by giving them the information they asked. Probationary Officers directly deals with customers, so they are supposed to promote various products of the bank and its partners to them. It may include fixed deposits, insurance policies, receipts, loans, cheque books etc. Probationary Officers are also required to perform the clerical activities like cash disbursal and collection. For this purpose, POs will also be trained on the transaction software too. Although, a clerk performs most cash transactions, some payments by way of cheque, DD, NEFT/RTGS beyond a certain amount need to be authorized and cleared only by a person of officer cadre. With the introduction of core banking soliutions, all the work done in a day should be properly closed to avoid any mismatch. While every employee has some day-end work, POs would be assigned to generate reports which may include the deposits, withdrawals, ledger balances etc.

Age Criteria:

Candidates should not be under 21 years and above 30 years as on April 1, 2017. Please note that upper age relaxation is applicable upto 03 years for OBC candidates, upto 10 years for PWD candidates and upto 05 years for SC/ ST/ Ex-Servicemen and others candidates as per rules.

Educational Qualification:

The candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Mode of Selection:

Candidates will be selected based on the result of their performance in Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, Group Exercises, Interview.

Application Fee:

Candidates may make the fee payment through online by using Internet Banking, Debit Cards (RuPay/ Visa/ Master Card/ Maestro), Credit Cards, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.

The fee details are as follows:

SC/ST/PWD : Rs 100 (non refundable)
General and OBC: Rs 600 (non refundable)

3. Click on “Click here for New Registration”, if you are new user.
4. Fill all the details in the application (your name, date of birth, contact details, educational qualifications etc.) & upload Photo, Signature.
5. Upload scanned copy of your photograph and signature.
