All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) comes under the Department of Higher Education. It is the national-level council for technical education established in November 1945. The main responsibility of AICTE is to manage and increase the development system of postgraduate and graduate programs in technical and management education in India as per its charter under specific categories. The AICTE office headquarters is situated in Delhi and regional offices at Kanpur, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bhopal, Vadodara, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.
