The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research also abbreviated as CSIR is an autonomous body was established in September of 1942 by the Government of India that has emerged as the largest research and development organisation in India. As of 2013, CSIR runs laboratories, Innovation Centers, institutes and outreach centers throughout India. CSIR has many achievements in technology as well as medical sector like CSIR developed India's first synthetic drug and also design its first 14 seater plane Saras. The CSIR has a very big staff team of scientists and technical support professionals. CSIR has initiated various schemes over the years to benefit students to pursue their research interests in various areas of science & technology, the most noteworthy among these is CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test for JRF and Eligibility for Lectureship.
